Teacher: (Plays a sound of crickets at night and heavy rain). "Listen. It is August 16, 1945, in Karawang. It is dark and muddy. The youth have just arrived with Soekarno and Hatta. How do they feel?"
Students: ......................................
Teacher: "Let’s write a dialogue. We need a Young Rebel and a Village Elder.
The teacher acts as the scribe on the board, while students provide the ideas based on the narrative features they learned in MoT (Past Tense and Descriptive Phrases).
Teacher: "How do we start? Let's describe the weather first."
Student: ...............................
Teacher: "Good. Let's use a stronger word. The rain poured down. Now, what did the Young Rebel say?"
Student: ...............................
Teacher: "Let’s make it more dramatic. (Teacher whispers). 'We must keep them safe in this small house,' the young man whispered.
Teacher: "What did the Elder reply? Remember, he is wise and calm."
Student: ............................
Teacher: "Excellent! Let’s add a time connective. Then, the Elder looked at the dark forest and smiled."
